Andrew Reynolds Senior Match Reports

The 2nd XI travelled to Warrington after a disappointing result the week before at Bowdon, they were looking to bounce back with a win to help keep promotion in their sights. The toss was lost and Bramhall were asked to bat by the home side, currently second place in the division.
It wasn’t to be the start that Bramhall were looking for, as three early wickets falling in the first 5 overs. Jack Harris and Adam Siddall were able to pick things up and began to put runs on the board. Ed Daber was next to come in and was eager to further the total, he and Siddall batted well together until the latter was run out having scored 42. Daber went on to make an impressive 92 not out aided by stand-in captain Chris Heppell who pitched in with a quick 30 runs to see Bramhall reach 214-8 at the tea break.
It was Adam Siddall and Jack Harris to open the bowling and two wickets for Jack in quick succession saw Warrington suffer a similar poor start to that of the Beavers. A majestic diving catch from Jack Harris at first slip saw the home captain fall to the bowling of Siddall shortly after. Warrington, like Bramhall began to pick up the pace and started racing towards their target. Fielding errors resulted in missed opportunities to wrap the game up early and left Warrington in touching distance of the total. James Davenport was brought on to bowl and smartly stepped up to the mark claiming five wickets and the match winning wicket with Warrington finishing on 204 all out.
The win sees Bramhall retain the fifth spot in the First division and applying pressure in hope of achieving promotion at the end of the season.
