Bramhall traveled to Grappenhall on what was to be a very close game with Grappenhall winning off the final ball.
Bramhall lost the toss and were inserted to bat on a flat wicket which was conducive to scoring runs. Bramhall got off to a slow start with the first wicket falling with the score on 30 off 10 overs. Lancashire player Danny Lamb had another day to remember in a Bramhall shirt scoring a wonderful 101 off 129 balls. Another special mention in the Bramhall innings must go to Iftikhar Nasser who hit a rapid 76 off 35 balls which included 7 x 6, Bramhall’s innings closed on 268 -7 off the 55 overs.
Grappenhall got off to a good start in reply to Bramhall’s 268, building a good platform to chase down Bramhall’s total. Peter Barnes set that platform with a solid 72 runs. Bramhall took regular wickets through the Grappenhall chase. Grappenhall needed one run off the final ball, which they got. Bramhall got 11 points compared to Grappenhall’s 25.
