Bramhall 1st XI vs Toft – 27/05/17

Andrew Reynolds Senior Match Reports

Toft won the toss and decided to bowl at Church Lane where there was thunder forecast later in the day.
Bramhall got off to a decent start with Cantello and Wilde scoring at healthy rate. Upon the first wicket falling, this brought about the Lancashire batsmen Danny Lamb who started to pace his innings to perfection. There were regular wickets falling at the other with no major partners to Danny. Danny brought up a magnificent hundred and he eventually fell for 130 hitting 13 fours and 4 sixes. Bramhall closed on 239 all out off the final ball of the innings.
Toft got off to a slow start after some heavy rain which reduced their overs to 46 instead of the normal 55. At the fall of the first wicket with the score delicately poised at 29-1 off 12 overs, this brought Rob Jones another Lancashire player to crease with his team needing quick runs to counteract the slow start. Rob went about putting all the Bramhall bowlers to the sword scoring a blistering 110 off 57 balls. This put the Bramhall total well in reach and Toft chased the total only losing 5 wickets and having 6 overs to spare. Bramhall are next in action on Thursday at Church Lane where they welcome Stockport CC in T20 action which starts at 6 pm.
