Bramhall 1st XI vs Nantwich 01/09/18

Andrew Reynolds Senior Match Reports

On a sunny day at Church Lane, the 1st Team set their sights on bringing down high-flying Nantwich. The visitors won the toss and asked Bramhall to make first use of the pitch. The Beavers got off to another flying start with Ashley West dispatching Freckingham to all parts of the ground. The opening partnership with Nick Cantello put on 51  in quick time, but the fall of the first wicket brought about a succession of Bramhall wickets and the home side ended up being bowled out for 107 in 45 overs on a decent batting wicket. Bramhall went in to the tea break hoping that they could produce a similar bowling performance.
The Beavers got off to a great start, quickly removing Rimmer who had scored a century against Bramhall earlier in the season.. Unfortunately this was the only wicket to fall. Ryan Brown and Niall O’Brien – who was fresh from international duty the day before – knocked the runs off with ease where they chased down the score within 17 overs. Bramhall failed to pick up any points from the game.
Just ahead of the drop zone, Bramhall travel to Timperley on Saturday to try to secure their Premier League status for next year.
