Bramhall Cricket Club is saddened to hear of the recent death of former player James Mellor.
James was an enthusiastic member of Bramhall CC from a young age, making his 1st XI debut as a 15 year old. James rose to become a respected captain of the First team between 1998 and 2002, in which time he guided the side to two separate promotions. His greatest triumph was skippering Bramhall as they became the 2001 National Club champions in a gripping cup final at Lord’s. He remains the only Cheshire County League captain to have lifted the trophy.
James was also captain of the Cheshire 2nd XI between 2000 and 2002.
Our thoughts are with James’ family.
